Welcome to Lula’s Cafe, a charming little haven nestled in the heart of Ripon at 35 Kirkgate, Ripon HG4 1PB, United Kingdom. This delightful cafe promises not just a meal, but an experience steeped in warmth, flavor, and that elusive local charm that makes any visit to Ripon worthwhile. Whether you’re popping in for a quick breakfast, craving a leisurely lunch, or seeking a cozy spot to sip coffee, Lula’s is the place to be.

The menu at Lula’s is a symphony of tastes that melds traditional English fare with delightful Mediterranean influences. The highlight is undoubtedly the Full English Breakfast at only £7.00—a perfectly balanced plate featuring sizzling sausages, crispy bacon, eggs cooked to your liking, and baked beans. For those preferring a lighter touch, the Greek Breakfast at £8.00 beckons with its delightful medley of flavors. Meanwhile, the Scrambled Eggs and Smoked Salmon on Toast offers a luxurious start to your day without being overly indulgent—just what you need to fuel a day of adventure.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a few cozy tables that invite you to linger just a bit longer than planned. As Craig Walker noted, it’s the “faultless” food and ridiculously reasonable pricing that make it a standout. The cafe caters to both those who appreciate a hearty meal and those with lighter appetites, as evidenced by its selection of salads and pastas, like the Penne Bolognaise at £8.95 or the creamy and comforting Penne Creamy Salmon and Dill available for £9.95.

Rich Perkin's experience illustrates the cafe’s welcoming vibe perfectly—ideal for a casual breakfast or an unfussy lunch. This is coupled with attentive service that makes you feel right at home, yet never intrudes on your dining experience. And if you find yourself in the cafe during a quieter moment, take the time to appreciate local art adorning the walls, adding a unique touch to your culinary outing.

In addition, Susan Culshaw’s encounter speaks volumes about the hospitality. Even if you only want a hot drink, the owner greets you warmly and ensures that your brief visit is as pleasant as possible. It’s this dedication to customer care that truly sets Lula’s apart from other cafes.

The value displayed at Lula’s Cafe is not just in pricing but also in the quality and preparation of the food. Their commitment to providing hearty meals without breaking the bank ensures that you leave satiated and content. So next time you’re exploring the beautiful town of Ripon, be sure to stop by Lula’s. It’s a local gem waiting to be discovered!

Wonderful, went in on Sunday for an all day breakfast, food faultless and ridiculously cheap but high quality.

It's not too bad of a place, and the owner was very nice and let us get a small bite and coffee just 5 minutes before closing.

Glad we found Lula’s cafe in Ripon for a late lunch after seeing the jaw-dropping cathedral. Strongly recommended for a casual brekky, morning, lunch or early afternoon decent healthy meal. The specials on the board outside were appetizing. Not knowing Ripon at all and with no personal recommendations, we ventured in. Service was perfect, open and attentive yet not bothersome—atmosphere relaxed, come as you are. The menu was very interesting with some really nice offerings for a small cafe, some standard fare so there’s something for everyone, but if you have some adventurous palates in your group, they should be satisfied too. I had the Greek Breakfast (pictured) which since Im on a much needed diet was perfect: Haloumi cheese, hummus, olives, falafel (breadcrumbed chickpea balls), feta cheese, tzatziki, and pita. No more full English/full Scottish for me. I’ll take a Greek brekky anywhere i can find it. It hit the spot, all fresh, all good stuff, and didnt sit heavy for the next couple of driving hours. Food presentation was very good. Everything was fresh despite being near closing time. We wont be looking for a place to eat next time we’re in Ripon, this was perfect. The prices were surprisingly reasonable so close to the cathedral. Would not hesitate to take people i know there for an adhoc cuppa. Oh, the coffee was very decent (i take it black, no milk to buffer, so you know it’s *decent*). Oh, and in the pic, thats the table we were sitting at with the manager clearing our table as soon as we stepped outside, so find a table you like which isnt covered with someone’s leftovers is not a problem youll have here.

We're staying in the area for a few days and popped into Ripon this morning. We'd already had a large cooked breakfast and only wanted a hot drink. We were greeted by the owner and offered a nice table in the window. This really is a lovely cafe with a good selection of choices for breakfast and lunch. Please support this local business, especially with the ongoing road closure which the owner told is affecting trade in the area.

This is a great place to stop for lunch on your day out in Ripon! It is a small cafe with few tables but if you catch it at the right time it is quiet and relaxed, giving you the opportunity to peruse the art for sale on the walls by local artists. The menu has Greek influences, which is great, and offers a sensible selection of vegetarian options. The meals are reasonably priced and offer good value for money. The breakfasts, which is what we had, were very well cooked and perfect. And the breakfast menu is now available all day, not just until lunchtime despite what the menu says. The staff were all attentive and friendly. It was a nice place to visit and we will certainly be back again.

We were exploring Ripon on Good Friday, and wandered into Lula’s after struggling to find anything that offered gluten free. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the owner took the time to come and take our orders himself so he knew exactly who in our group needed GF and even checked certain ingredients with us to make sure they were safe. My partner is coeliac and reacts to even small traces so it was amazing to see someone take the time to be so thorough. We had a lovely lunch with really generous portions, and genuinely caring service the entire time. To top it off, the owner took the time to meet us back at the cafe well after closing time on a public holiday to help us retrieve a forgotten item before we travelled back to London, then NZ the following day! Some of the nicest service we’ve experienced, really blew us away.
